How Far Can the QuickVu™ Wireless Backup Camera Transmit?

posted in: FAQs, New Products | 0

We are often asked how far the QuickVu™ Wireless Backup Camera can transmit. Of course, the question is asked by customers that want to install the camera on a larger vehicle, such as a large pickup, an RV, or a trailer. Unfortunately, the answer is cannot be given in a simple answer such as a number of feet or yards.

The reception of the video signal and the quality of the image on the display will depend on many factors in addition to the distance of the camera from the receiver. Sources of interference and reflection both inside and outside the vehicle may contribute to degraded image quality.

That said, the QuickVu™ Wireless Backup Camera was designed for, and works best on, passenger cars, minivans, SUVs, and smaller pickup trucks. We have had customers achieve good results on larger pickup trucks, delivery vans, and even on RVs, but we are not confident that everyone will get great results in these situations.

So What Are We Doing to Make It Even Better?

To improve results on all vehicles and especially on larger vehicles, we are designing new models of wireless backup camera. They will be just as easy to install as our current model and they will have more robust video transmission and reception. We intend to have one model for smaller vehicles and one for larger vehicles, including RVs, buses, fifth wheels, and more.
